Bedrock’s Top Selling Downloads

1.Rock ‘n Roll Man (Album: Recovery)

A personalised and nostalgic look back at rock heroes through the ages, together with the influences they have had on many of us. Charted twice in Indie charts.

2.Crowd Invasion (Album: So, Where’s The Party?)

No prisoners! A BIG rocker – lots of guitars and plenty of noise and energy! Fashioned on Bedrock gigs. Another song which charted in the Indie charts.

3.The Air Guitar Song (Album: So, Where’s The Party?)

A biographical account of how a young policeman turned into a rocker!

4.Nothing Worries Me (Album: So, Where’s The Party?)

A tongue-in-cheek bit of reggae built on the traditions of Jamaica and green leaves!

5.Last Round (Album: So, Where’s The Party?

A friendly sing-a-long crowd pleaser widely played in pubs throughout Namibia.

· CROWD INVASION CREEPS INTO MP3 TOP TWENTY

“Crowd Invasion”, one of the strongest rockers off Bedrock’s last album, “So, Where’s The Party?” continues to make steady progress up the South African mp3 Top Twenty charts edging into 18th place this week. This chart list, for those who are unaware of how it works, is based on the number of downloads each song registers. In the light of this, an almighty thanks is due to all of you who have downloaded to date and, of course, a raspberry to those of you who haven’t. If you qualify as a raspberry muncher, please redeem yourselves by getting across to www.samp3.co.za and downloading this amazing track. When done you can chew your raspberry and pretend it was never there in the first place!

· HENTIE’S VISTOK FESTIVAL GOES POP

As so often happens, this event has been cancelled by the organisers who seemingly took fright at the amount of preparation that is required to stage one of these events successfully. Oh well, it was a good idea which might come to pass one of these fine days.

· BEDROCK HEAD FOR GERMAN TV APPEARANCE AGAIN!

Those of you who have followed the band for any length of time will know that a couple of years ago the band appeared in a German-produced documentary on Namibia. The footage was actually filmed “live” at 2001’s launch of the RECOVERY album. It was an additionally significant event in BEDROCK’s history as it was the first time Pete & Kenny were admonished by a television producer for fooling around too much! I ask you. The program has not been shown in southern Africa, however, we did receive a copy from the producers, as well as feedback from friends and acquaintances in Germany and Holland who saw the program when when flighted. The current good news is that the band has once again been filmed for inclusion in yet another German television documentary. The producer tells us that, prior to undertaking their trip to Namibia, they carried out a fair bit of research on the topic. During this time they typed Oranjemund into a search engine and the first site that popped up in response to this cue was Bedrock’s. The site fascinated and amused our German friends who, upon arriving in Oranjemund, made a specific request to meet us. Being during the week we didn’t have any gigs or practices planned and Dave was out-of-town. Nevertheless, being as accommodating as we are the three of us who were about got together for an hour’s photo shoot. We performed four of our original works – Crowd Invasion, Nothing Worries Me, Mobile Party and Rock ‘n Roll Man I and our guests would appear to have thoroughly enjoyed themselves. A bonus was that this was a far more enlightened crowd than the previous lot and we were allowed to fool around to our hearts’ content!

· EDDIE MICS UP

Yes, folks, the dam wall – or should that be sonic wall? - has finally given way (in fact it was deliberately sabotaged by Dave MacMillan who connived to acquire microphones for Eddie’s drum kit) and our drummer is now officially the noisiest guy around! We are hoping that Eddie will fork out for veriphones for the rest of us to use. Sheeesh…some people

· UP ‘N COMING GIGS

Gig schedules are, obviously, always subject to change, however, we have a pretty good track record of delivering exactly as per our program. Where there have been changes, these have always been at the behest of the hirer, promoter or corporate and NOT of the band. Penciled in over the next few weeks are:

Thursday 1 May – Monday 5 May 2003 – Watch this space.

Friday 23 May 2003 @ Private function – Luderitz

Saturday 24 May 2003 @ “Rumours” (Kapp’s Hotel) – Luderitz

Friday 30 May 2003 @ The Don – Oranjemund

For confirmation’s closer to the time, please keep an eye on our website at www.bedrockband.com

‘Til next time – Have Fun!
